Timber framing - Timber framing is the modern term for the traditional half-timbered construction in which timber provides a visible skeletal frame that supports the whole building. The terms are in fact interchangeable.
Framing Slick - A Framing Slick is a large chisel, a tool that one typically uses to cut a mortise in wood in timber frame construction.
Dwang - A Noggin (UK) or Dwang (NZ) is a horizontal bracing piece used between wall studs or floor joists to give rigidity to the wall or floor frames of a building. Traditionally they are of timber but are now also a feature of steel or aluminium framing.
